Van Wert, OH- The Wapakoneta Redskins are the outright WBL Champions for 2018 following their impressive WBL Tournament Team championship this past weekend at Van Wert. The Redskins placed nine Wrestlers, including three individual Champions to lead the field with 146 team points. Of the twelve Wapak Wrestlers that competed, each scored point towards the championship. By virtue of St. Marys finishing below second place, they finished fourth, the Redskins claimed sole possession of the league championship. The dual meet portion of the season counts towards half of the championship with the other half being decided by the league tournament placement of each team. St. Marys won the dual meet portion of the WBL going 8-1 followed by Wapak and Celina who both went 7-2.

The Redskins opened strong in the tournament going 11-2 in their matches through the quarterfinals and 24-13 for the day.
